We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for use as an accent in home foundation plantings. Its smaller size lends well for use in large pots, planters and other containers of 15 inches or more in diameter that can be situated on patios, decks and around other outdoor sitting and living spaces where the butterflies and hummingbirds feeding can be enjoyed from close up. Growing Preferences
Monarch Prince Charming Butterfly Bush is exceptionally easy to grow in moist but well-drained soils of average to low fertility and full sun to mostly sun. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sun per day during the growing season best flowering. As with so many other plants, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Deadheading of spent flowers isn’t absolutely necessary however will encourage production of new and more flowers.
